Main Water Tower Painting Project
IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THE CITY OF ASHLAND WATER TOWER PROJECT
- The City of Ashland is taking the main water tower (in the southeast corner of the cemetery) offline starting September 2nd to have the tower repainted. This project will take anywhere between four and seven weeks, depending upon the weather.
- While this is being done, we will need the community to work with us to conserve water. We will not have the ability to store water in west Ashland. This can become a problem particularly in the morning when everyone is trying to water their lawns.
- We are asking property owners/residents to stick to the following watering schedule while the water tower is offline:
- 💧If you are between 18th and 32nd Streets, you water only on Sunday and Thursday.
- 💧If you are between 10th and 18th Streets, you water only on Monday and Friday.
- 💧If you are between 6th Street and Dennis Dean Road or in Whitetail Estates, you water only on Tuesday and Saturday.
- 💧If you are in Iron Horse, you water only on Wednesday and Sunday.
- We are also asking if we continue to get the rainfall that we’ve been receiving, please consider either cutting back to one day a week or not watering at all during this project.
- Please also consider other ways you may be able to conserve water during this project. If we do lose pressure while the wells are running, we would have to issue a boil order for everyone on the water system. We’re doing our best to make sure this doesn’t happen. This is the latest in the watering season that the contractor would do this project due to potential weather conflicts.
